Last month, when I patronized Rite-Aid Store # 10935, the young man at the pharmacy counter informed me that they only had 19 tablets of my medication on a prescription that was for 120 pills. What he didn't inform me of was that because this was a schedule II medication, the prescription would be forfeit and I would have to return to my doctor for a new prescription. Fortunately, I went elsewhere.

Yesterday, the young woman at the same location (Store # 10935) was rude and snippy because I referred to my medication by the generic name and not by the name brand, which for whatever reason offended this incompetent pharmacy-tech. They did not have my medication in stock.

Today, I phoned Rite-Aid Store # 274 and the young woman who answered the phone very rudely told me that she could not inform me over the phone if they in fact had my prescribed medication in stock (unlike other pharmacies, including, other Rite-Aid locations were perfectly happy to do) and when I went in to Store # 274, she looked up my medication in a book and told me that the company did not carry it, which, unless the young man at Rite-Aid Store # 10935 had been lying to me last month, was not true. I don't drive and have health conditions which make it difficult for me to get around.

Fortunately, aside from several independent pharmacies in my area, there are several other chains with far superior customer service. I am prescribed four different medications a month, but under no circumstances will I attempt to have them filled at any Rite-Aid location. The workers at the nearby fast food restaurants seem to be much more competent and respectful, if not more knowledgeable that the people who pass for pharmacy technicians at Rite-Aid.

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

This is a store policy (and I believe a scam). There are other pharmacies that will give you enough pills to see your through until they get the rest of your order in.

They always offer me this 'deal', and it's just one of the unbelievable hoops they're forcing customers to jump through. I live in Davis CA and have had nothing but grief in dealing with my Rite Aid.

It's time for the BBB to be brought in, and anyone else I can think of. The incompetence is reaching heroic levels, and if I ever get the perscription I've been trying to get for a week now, and this is the second month in a row they've given me incredible trouble.

Those with mental illness are clearly the ones doing the accusing. I'm in complete agreement with the complaint, and am having the same problem with Rite Aid Pharmacies, they make promises easily and then fail to follow through, but do have plenty of excuses.

For the last two months, it's been a week since they received my perscription, and still nothing but broken promises, depriving of a life sustaining medication with nothing more that an "I'm sorry" to go back home with.

Rite Aid's advertising campaign is nothing more than a substitute for professional service, and their customers are nothing more to them than profit. And no- it isn't obvious at all that the comments degrading the complaint are left by company shills- stay away from this outfit!

Be sure to count your meds when you get home. I had an RX for 180 pills filled and received 80 pills - and this was for a controlled substance!!!!

I barely received an apology for this error. Very incompetent!

Agreed, they offer private health information (PHI) freely. Not just without my authorization, but without cause of any kind.

Just for the kicks I guess, cause my father didn't want to hear any of what the pharmacist was telling him. Still the man keeps telling him more. Rite Aid merely says "sorry, he's new". If I was addressing a mistake in ordering a burrito at Taco Bell, I realize that "I'm sorry" might be all I hear from the exec's in charge, but I expect a little better than a "Taco Bell" brand of health care.

When the pharmacist makes a mistake re: my private information, there is no fixing that! The words cannot be unsaid or unheard, It's out there, and it is worthy of something more significant and sincere than "Oops, sorry about that!!"

I am a Pharm Tech with rite aid, we are not all ignorant. I would prefer youuse the generic name rather than tell me that you need your little round blue pill that is for your sugar and then scream at me because you wanted your water pill. Thank you for at least knowing what you are on.

It seems as if every Rite Aid has a different way of doing things, mine fortunately is not one that hires incompetent people that are overly rude.

Some stores have different rules than others such as not giving out info on stock levels of CIIs on the phone. That is completely up to the discretion of the pharmacy manager. Also not all stores in a chain carry the same drugs so it's perfectly reasonable that one store didn't carry whatever narcotic you eat like candy.

nikalseyn, please let us know what pharmacy you frequent for meds for your mental illness? Do tell nuttytnikalsen so we can all avoid that location.

Clearly, your meds aren't working for you. So Sad.

Apparently, you have a problem with multiple Rite-Aid pharmacies. Probably best to avoid Rite-Aid from now on and get your *** from a pharmacy more sympathetic to the mentally ill.
