Rite Aid in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - On behalf of my customers as a current company employee

It is very frustrating as an employee to not be able to properly provide and serve the customers. When I am in a store, as a shopper, I expect top service and I want to give just that to my customers. Management does not allow enough hours for the store to be properly staffed. One of my biggest complaints is that the items they want are not in stock. That is primarily due to the warehouse only sending us a couple of the item or not sending us the item at all, even when the manager orders it. It is more than upsetting to have to tell the customer that it is not in stock and not being able to promise them the item on the next truck. Some employees do make those promises but I am not going to give the customer false hope. I always tell them that the item has been ordered but whether we receive it or not is another question. I often take down their name and number so that I can call them when the item does come in so they do not have to waste gas to come back over and over again. Another complaint that I get is the fact that the photo equipment is broken a lot. What kind of company allows for that to happen? If it is broken, it should be serviced immediately. I guess since the people who are in charge of fixing it do not get to be face to face with the customers, they can easily procrastinate. There is nothing that I hate more than telling a customer that I am unable to provide them a service that is advertised. Luckily, I have explained to the customers that I am doing everything in my power to fix the issue and they can see that. However, we have lost potential customers because of the issue. It is nothing against our staff. They go elsewhere in order to get their pictures in a timely fashion. Another issue that I feel that effects the customers is that upper management sets so many tasks for us to complete in an unreasonable amount of time that we lose time thoroughly providing help to the customers. It has gotten some of us in trouble because we put the customers first. I will treat the customers, as I expect to be treated when I am in a store as a customer. It is disheartening to read the bad reviews that consumers have given Rite Aid. There is no excuse for upset customers. I have been told by some of our customers that they have been treated rudely by employees in other stores or by previous employees in our store. It is the customers that get me through the day at work. I get sick when other cashiers complain that there are too many customers to ring up. Who do you think pays our paychecks? I will happily ring up any customer because even though the company prints my paycheck, it is the customers that pay it. Tonight was the tip of the iceberg for me. A customer came in and told me that another cashier told her that her pictures would be ready for her today. I looked in the drawer and her pictures were not there. The machine that was to print her pictures was broken and the employee did not even have the decency to tell the customer that. Luckily, I managed to fix one of the machines. When the customer first came in, she became very upset because she was promised something that was followed through. I made sure that she left with the pictures though and saved a customer from going elsewhere. She left happy. I really hope that upper management reads the reviews that customers give on this site and any other site.

Beautifully said and so true. This company is a sinking ship and the senior staff is a large part of the reason why.

Back in the Eckerd days I loved my job and would frequently work other people's shifts or overtime as the store needed without complaint. My love of the job was noticed and appreciated by customers and management staff alike, and soon I started rising in the ranks. Unfortunately though, Rite Aid came and changed everything. Prices went up, work satisfaction went down, and I found this page while doing research for info to update my resume so I can look for another job.

Rite Aid Corp.

says they want customer satisfaction to be #1, which is all well and good unless you are trying to achieve it and causing associate dissatisfaction. Just wait folks, this company has been running off their employees for years, and its only gonna get worse.

It's called mind your own business, honey. Stop being so disrespectful to what he's saying.

I agree completely - I work for Rite Aid and the cuts they have made and the extra workload has made good customer service IMPOSSIBLE. The comment by retail above is unnecessary and belittling for no apparent reason.

IT's called retail honey, either put up with it or quit and find another line of work.

Rite Aid in Brookville, Pennsylvania - Employee Screaming Thruout the Store

For the past 5 times I've gone into the Rite Aid store in Ridgway, PA,15853, there is an employee there by the name of Bonnie. She is always screaming at the other employees or complaining about a customer or employee. She is loud & obnoxious. I will not go in there again until she is told to shut up. Bonnie makes me nervous & I can't think about what I need to buy, so I leave the store. Bonnie doesn't ask customers if they need help, she just says what do you need in an nasty tone of voice. She has never even approached me. I usually find one of the other employees if I need help. Bonnie is nasty & needs to be fired or talked too!! Her screaming makes it an unpleasant experience to be in that store. The others in there are nice. Please do something about Nasty Bonnie!

Well since obviously from your attitude you are seven years old let me explain this in simple words. People in the area that you moved to don't like that flavor so it is a waste of money for them to carry that flavor.

They will not carry it just because one person likes that flavor. Also vanilla probably sells because some people like their ice cream plain.

They are not going to get rid of vanilla just because you throw a temper tantrum, and I am sure they ar glad they lost you as a customer since it won't break them or put them out of business. With your attitude I am sure your neighbors just "love" you.

first off, I am very sorry that you had a bad experience, but just so you are aware, Rite Aid may have cameras, but they r not watched all day long. The area that you were in may not even have a camera.

That being the case, because you didnt tell someone you were hurt, the bills fall on you. Not smart on ur part my friend....

Rite Aid in Lansing, Michigan - Rite-Aide wellness card needed?

Fool me once Rite-Aide. And you may keep your beloved wellness card database. BIG SIGNS of sales small print on the wellness card needed. In my opinion this is the modern day bait n' switch game all over again. Yup I predict your sales profits will jump then decline quickly. People do not like to feel burned. Wow I need 58 words for this database to work how rude. What is wrong with short and sweet? Sometimes one just has to laugh how ridiculous things are getting. Yes indeed. Fill it with filler. All makes sense doesn't it?

Actually, sales have gone up since that program began. You can't read a sign or take two minutes to fill out a little form? Your problem.

Actually, Walgreens doesn't have a card, and CVS allows the use of a "store" card to purchase sale items. In discussing this Rite Aid in Holden, Ma as well as their Customer Service person it appears they really don't care, nor could be bothered about it. As stated "its their policy".

Your right, they are late to the game, and falling further...

So, I wont shop their any more. Holden, Ma has two other accommodating Pharmacy's...

Ps. And now I'm actually mad enough to blog and tell others...assume that's in their ROI/profits calculator somewhere.

I'm sorry, while I too hate carrying around dozen store cards, CVS and almost every supermarket I can think of requires a store card (just like Wellness Plus)for you to get sale prices. The concept sounds brand new to you. Sadly, Rite Aid is late to this.

Rite Aid Manager falsley accuses...and no apologies!

I had recently went into the Rite Aid pharmacy (13167) on Black Mountain Road in San Diego to pick up a prescription. While waiting my children and I browsed the shelves. I had picked up a few items to purchase for myself and my children, when a disheveled man approached us saying, "My manager saw you steal a pack of playing cards, and it's in your pockets." This was said to my 18 year old son. My son emptied out his pockets to show the disheveled hairy man his wallet and his cell phone. The man was suprised and walked away. I asked for the manager, but he never appeared. I went to pick up the prescription and asked the name of the manager, she said it was Thuy or something. He never came out, he just hid in his office. I believe he even walked by me before I knew what his name was, and never apologized. Real classy! This isn't the first type of incident which occurred at this pharmacy. Many people have complained about this location, and have moved thier services elsewhere. Mr. Thuy needs to get off his high horse and stop falsely accusing people of crimes unless he really does have solid proof. One of these days someone is gonna ask for the police to come and get his *** sued. He needs to man-up and do the dirty work himself and apologize to all the people he has humiliated. He really needs to be fired and replaced with someone who is more educated and experienced. I mean seriously, you really think the people that live in this area can't afford to buy a pack of playing cards? Maybe where he is from he can't afford to buy them...he needs to remember he does not work in the ghetto where he lives.

Yes I know what you mean. The mangers and the District Managers are all alike.

They know every thing that goes on in there stores but they really don't. They are all clueless. I worked at Rite-Aid and the big wigs are just as clueless. They let there managers and District Mangers do whatever they want and whenever they want.

And one of the biggest *** they have is Bareen does anybody know him ? He works at all the downtown stores and the Northpark stores.

He is very very rude to women. And Pat is more into her private life than her professional life.

I was at a riteaide store 03110 in NYC when from the other end of the store I hear my mom who is in her sixties, saying she didnot take anything. The security guard said he was told by another guard who is watching a screen that she took a 99cent pencil and slipped it in her pocket.

She was totally humiliated took off her coat and told the security to search her. This has not been the first time i have witness these security guard accusting other patrons. Riteaide needs to revise there policies. Also they have a camera with different screens in which they can zoom in on a person I have watched from afar and witness them zooming into a girls busom or her ***!!!!!!

Enough with this form of harassment.

We need to speech up. :cry :cry :( :) :cry :cry :cry

If you did not hear the call perhaps you should make an appointment with your doctor to have your hearing checked out. Before you make sure anyone retired perhaps you shold go back to second grade and learn how to spell.

Rite Aid Caused me to lose my family physician

On Friday the 13th, I lost my family doctor, because a bald headed middle aged pharmacist named Flanagan speculated and gossiped about my pharmacy report. He did not want me to have my pain medication. I almost died of blood clots two months earlier, I live in Parkersburg, W. V., and I call it helltown because everyone here acts like hillbillies. I have to take blood thinners, shots in my stomach, and it is painful along with my other disabilites that include lung surgery, and my brain is to large for my skull. I am sixty-one years old and disabled. Why are the pharmacists allowed to override a doctor? This is what happened, and I had no overlaps of medications and this *** is putting my life at risk with his speculation. He should be fired.

@ greatidea........

you're right. the 4 years doctors spend in med school, i spent in pharmacy school learning about medications. In fact many of the local doctors call me to ask me what i think would best treat the diagnosis they have just given their patient. Seeming as how you have absolutely no idea the education I have received, but still feel inclined to make such a comment, I question your level of education.

And in fact, I could also fix your car dumb@ss

Do we now have pharmacists making medical decisions without a medical liceince or the complete medical background of the customer? Why do we need to see a doctor, we can go to Riteaid and get treated by those people behind the counter?

What a great idea, see an undereducated pharmacist and get your meds at the same place. Maybe they can also fix my car.

A prescription from a physician it does not mean that you can get you medicine at pharmacy. When a pharmacist suspects any misuse of prescrition medicine he/she has lawful right to verify or refuse to fill it

Anonymous
#180837

It is the pharmacist's right if they do not want to fill a prescription. Perhaps when he was reviewing your patient profile, he felt that you were misusing your medication or abusing it.

Was it very early for your refill? The pharmacist should have called your doctor to verify any shady details that he may have suspected.
